Spa, beauty treatments, wellness
2000 years ago the Romans discovered the healing properties of the 12 thermal springs in Baden-Baden and they built the first thermal baths here. Today the healing thermal waters flow into the modern Caracalla Spa, which has plenty of room for healthy relaxation, with over 4000 square metres of space. The historic "Friedrichsbad" has offered an exclusive spa experience for over 135 years, bringing together the culture of Roman baths and Irish tradition. There are also many spa and wellness hotels offering a wide variety of exclusive, individually tailored treatments.
Art & Culture
The "Festspielhaus", Europe's second largest opera and concert hall, is a cultural treat. It is famed for its unique acoustics and the top events that it hosts all year round.
The Museum Frieder Burda, built by New York star architect, Richard Meier, is the jewel in the crown at the heart of "Lichtentaler Allee", a splendid area of parks and gardens. The Staatliche Kunsthalle, which is linked to the Museum Frieder Burda by a glass bridge, shows international contemporary art. It is an excellent place to take in the visual arts, from the avant-garde to the present.
The Fabergé Museum - the first and only museum of its kind in the world - shows with over 700 exhibits the wide range of work by Carl Fabergé.
The traditional Kurhaus Baden-Baden is still the social hub of the town, hosting glamorous balls and stylish events the whole year round. Formerly known as the "Konservationshaus", it also houses the world-famous Casino Baden-Baden, dubbed the "most beautiful casino in the world" by Marlene Dietrich, which invites visitors from around the world to try their luck at classic games like roulette, blackjack or poker.

Baden-Baden offers top-notch events all year round, including exciting international horse races, the international vintage car festival in the Kurgarten, romantic orchestral castle concerts in the local wine region, called "Rebland", and the traditional Christmas market at the end of the year.

There is exclusive shopping with a stylish ambience at boutiques in the town centre, and charming little shops at the Kurhaus colonnade. "Chocoholics" will be in heaven when they go to the traditional Confiserie Rumpelmayer and drink in the tradition at the "Café König“ coffee house. Gourmets can enjoy fine local cuisine and international delicacies at many restaurants in the town centre that have been awarded stars and chef's hats. A hot tip for connoisseurs is the "Rebland", the local wine region of Baden-Baden, with its delightful sun-drenched countryside, south-west of Baden-Baden.
